From new construction to remodels, the owner, Gene Allen, has created thousands of designs for both contractors and homeowners within North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. With his experience in both the small business market and nationally known companies within the construction industry, it’s his goal to blend the best of BOTH worlds to exceed the expectations of our customers. To further the exceptional experience, our customers will interact with our dynamic sales team, professional administrative staff, and skilled installers, from beginning to end. Gene Allen
As Owner, Gene brings more than twenty five years of experience to the business.
His career in the cabinet industry began in 1997, when he was just nineteen years old. His leadership qualities were recognized on a baseball field where he coached alongside his father. One of the parents, owner of a local cabinet dealership, recognized his dedication on the field and hired him for an entry-level position within the company. In three short months he proved his potential and was promoted to the sales team, where he remained for three and a half years.
Since then, Gene has worked in various roles within the construction industry, owning two cabinet dealerships along the way. Presently, he’s the owner of Your Cabinet Connection, Inc., which he purchased April 2017. After spending several years recovering from the 2009 economic recession, this purchase was a God-send and brought things full circle for Gene and his family. They apply the financial lessons learned to the business daily and count it a true blessing.
Today, you’ll find Gene enjoying the laidback, coastal lifestyle at Emerald Isle, NC. He and his family permanently moved from Wake County to this beautiful town in 2020. In addition to his love for the beach, he also enjoys playing and coaching baseball and following anything regarding the University of Alabama’s football, baseball and basketball teams.
Wendy Allen
Wendy’s work in administration extends back to 1990. As a sophomore at Apex High School, she participated in their business program and worked as an intern at Marty Allen Photography. She found her niche in administration and customer service, which fit her outgoing personality and desire to serve others.
In 1995 she graduated from Peace College with an Associate of Arts degree and continued her studies at NC State University in Sociology, before marrying in April 1998. Her husband, Gene Allen, is the current owner of Your Cabinet Connection and he’s also the son of Marty Allen, owner of Marty Allen Photography. As you can see, internships have all kinds of benefits!
Wendy’s work in administration continued throughout college and after marriage. She worked in a variety of industries and acquired a diverse skill set that prepared her for the responsibilities she now has at YCC. Though most of her time is spent managing the finances, she enjoys human resource duties as well.
Wendy is the proud mother of two teenage sons and has had the privilege of homeschooling them for several years. She enjoys women’s Bible studies, researching, and occasionally crocheting. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and is very grateful to live at the NC coast.
